And here we are again, ready for the third and final section of the great bang-up picture-heavy wedding posts. *wink*
Part Three: The Wedding. Pictures by moi and my mother. 🙂
We had a leisurely Saturday morning – well, kind of leisurely. :-p We did clean the house. 🙂 Everyone came over to our house for lunch, and then we all got ready and were out at the farm around five o’clock.
“We [should not] make the mistake of thinking that marriage will provide the ultimate satisfaction for which we all hunger. To assume so would be to be guilty of blasphemy. Only God satisfies the hungry heart. Marriage is but one of the channels He uses to enable us to taste how deeply satisfying His thirst-quenching grace can be.” -Sinclair B. Ferguson
“The wonder of marriage is woven into the wonder of the gospel of the cross of Christ, and the message of the cross is foolishness to the natural man, and so the meaning of marriage is foolishness to the natural man (1 Cor. 2:14).” -John Piper
“Love as distinct from ‘being in love’ is not merely a feeling. It is a deep unity, maintained by the will and deliberately strengthened by habit; reinforced by the grace which both partners ask, and receive from God. They can have this love for each other even at those moments when they do not like each other; as you love yourself even when you do not like yourself.” -C. S. Lewis
“God intends and expects marriage to be a lifetime commitment between a man and a woman, based on the principles of biblical love. The relationship between Jesus Christ and His church is the supreme example of the committed love that a husband and wife are to follow in their relationship with each other” -John C. Broger
“There is no more lovely, friendly and charming relationship, communion or company than a good marriage.” -Martin Luther
So, that was the wedding. I cannot believe it is over. And I cannot believe what an amazing wedding it was.
Marriage is a beautiful, mysterious institution of God – it cannot be replaced. There aren’t many things in this world that inspire me as much as a God-honoring marriage. And someday, I hope and pray that God will send me a Godly man who is completely sold out to Jesus Christ.
So, Auntie Rachel and Uncle Kenneth, may God bless your marriage now and always.
(Oh, and you’ll be able to see more pictures on the photographer’s blog soon (I hope). Even more artsyness. Heehee. Anyway, the names will be Rachel and Kenneth. Auntie Rachel and UNCLE Kenneth!!!!)
